Virtual Masterclass- Impact Assessment of Covid-19 Relief and Rehabilitation Projects

02 September 2021 To 03 September 2021
Deadline: 31 August 2021

Virtual Masterclass- Impact Assessment of Covid-19 Relief and Rehabilitation Projects

The Context

Considering Covid-19, most social sector organisations have had to rethink strategies and adopt new innovative means of reaching out to vulnerable communities, and a considerable part of CSR spends have been deployed for tackling the gross socio-economic repercussions of the pandemic. There is an urgent need to monitor the implementation of relief and rehabilitation programs to ensure rapid course-corrections, and targeted resource allocation to populations that are most in need. Organisations need to ensure that all the measures and stimulus packages that are provided during the outbreak are utilized effectively.

The Masterclass

India’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) expenditure for FY20 stood at more than INR. 15,000 crores. In a positive move to shift the focus from expenditure alone and improve the quality of CSR projects, the Companies (Corporate Social Responsibility Policy) Amendment Rules 2021 made impact assessment mandatory for companies undertaking CSR activities and CSR expenditure above a specified threshold.

The 2-day training program will lead to an enhanced understanding of ‘Social Impact Management and Assessment’ among development sector personnel, to commission and implement impact evaluation studies for their organisations.

The training will offer practical advice on conducting impact assessments for relief and rehabilitation programs, focusing on

1. Food security and ration provisions

2. Education and digital literacy

3. Healthcare infrastructure

4. Awareness campaigns on safety, health and hygiene

5. WASH infrastructure

6. Skill Training and Livelihoods

What you will learn?

At the end of the course, learners would be able to:

1. Identify key outcomes/indicators to evaluate impact of relief and rehabilitation investments/programs

2. Select an appropriate sample of respondents

3. Use the right data collection methods, while coping with restrictions on travel, lockdown requirements and health concerns

4. Undertake basic data analysis to understand the achievement/non-achievement of impact outcomes

Who should attend?
