Impact Talk in conversation with Ms. Advaitesha Birla, Founder, Ujaas
Ms. Birla, a scion of the Birla Family, is a young sociopreneur who founded Ujaas — a Menstrual Health and Hygiene Social Enterprise under the aegis of the Aditya Birla Education Trust. Ujaas aims to create a positive and sustainable impact on the menstrual health landscape in India by reducing period poverty and empowering adolescent girls and women to adopt effective menstrual health and hygiene management practices. Her initiative reflects the amalgamation of her passion for women’s health and empowerment, as well as her belief in the transformative potential of education to derive positive change. Ms. Birla noted the guidance of her mother Dr. Neerja Birla, Founder and Chairperson of Aditya Birla Education Trust in setting up Ujaas at the young age of 18. Currently, Ms. Advaitesha is also pursuing a degree in Psychology at the University College London.
