Impact Talk in conversation with Ms. Deepthi Bopaiah, CEO, GoSports Foundation

Banker turned Sports Administrator Ms. Deepthi Bopaiah, CEO of GoSports Foundation, has had an incredible journey so far. GoSports Foundation, a non-profit organisation launched in 2008 to support elite and emerging athletes in Olympic and Paralympic disciplines, is one of the premier non- profit ventures working towards the development of Indian sport, and Deepthi has been spearheading the growth of the organisation, which she has been a part of for the last nine years.

After graduating from the Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies with a Master’s in Business Administration, Deepthi worked as a wealth advisor at HSBC for six years before deciding to quit her more lucrative career and chase her passion for working in sports in 2012. A former Karnataka state- level tennis player & University Basketball player, Deepthi wanted to do everything she could to help GoSports Foundation grow and position India as a powerhouse in Olympic and Paralympic sports.

Under Deepthi’s leadership, the Foundation has grown in leaps and bounds, achieved tremendous reach, and has left an indelible impact on the Indian sporting ecosystem, with more still to come. Deepthi has worked with more than 200 athletes through the Foundation’s programmes across Olympic and Paralympic disciplines whilst being a part of the journeys of around 50 Olympians and Paralympians, not to mention 10 Paralympic medalists as well.
