Online Chikitsa Mitra organises an India-wide free health check-up camp for women in underprivileged areas
Online Chikitsa Mitra, a pioneering telemedicine-driven rural health-tech start-up, reaffirmed its commitment to women's health and empowerment with a successful free online health check-up camp held on Friday. The camp extended its reach to benefit over 100 women across the country, delivering comprehensive health assessments and expert medical consultation from specialist doctors.
Women across India often grapple with restricted access to quality healthcare, with a staggering 50 million contending with reproductive health challenges. Recognizing the profound impact of health on women's lives, Online Chikitsa Mitra showcased its commitment by giving them the most valuable asset – their health. Through this initiative, the start-up provided women across the country with thorough health check-ups covering vital parameters such as blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, weight, height, and temperature. It also facilitated subsequent online consultations thereby ensuring a holistic approach to women's health.
Spanning over 50 medical stores in regions including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Goa, and Karnataka, Online Chikitsa Mitra strategically organized its camp to maximize accessibility for women in diverse locations.
A team of esteemed medical specialists, including gynaecologists, cardiologists, dermatologists, paediatricians, nutritionists and more, led by Dr. T.P. Singh (M.B.B.S., M.D., D.T.C.D., D. Card.), the distinguished Clinical Advisor at Online Chikitsa Mitra, and Secretary General of the Uttar Pradesh TB Association, were brought on board to provide guidance and support during both the initial check-up and subsequent consultations. Additionally, it partnered with SKD Hospital and Mayo Hospital in Lucknow to facilitate the camp seamlessly.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the camp, Smriti Tandon, Co-founder, Online Chikitsa Mitra expressed, "The impetus for this initiative originated from our observation of numerous female patients facing challenges in completing their treatment due to financial constraints related to travel. Our goal was to enhance their well-being by offering accessible healthcare, facilitating comprehensive treatment and, in turn, expanding our reach and impact on the communities we serve."
With a proven track record of positively impacting lives and improving healthcare accessibility, the start-up aims to organize more such online consultation camps as well as on-site health camps, in the near future.
