In Conversation with Mr. Ashish Srivastava, Associate Director - CSR, EY Foundation

Mr. Ashish Srivastava is a CSR Practitioner who believes in ‘Creating and offering one fair opportunity’ to every disadvantaged human being through need-based and sustainable CSR projects. Ashish is a Law Graduate from University of Delhi and Social Work Post-Graduate from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). He has worked with reputed NGOs, Multinational Corporations and as a consultant, managing over 150 community initiatives focusing on Education, Skills development, Health, Agriculture, Disaster response, Environment, Women empowerment, community development and, etc. in 15+ Indian states. Currently, he is the Associate Director - CSR at EY Foundation. In his current role, he has established well-defined standard operating procedure for CSR, developed time-bound and result-oriented community projects in the field of Education, Disaster Response and Environment with measurable impact. 

He answered the following questions during the interview:

  1. Could you walk us through the journey of the establishment of the EY Foundation and how has it evolved since?
  2. In your experience of working with high caliber NGOs, how do you think more value can be added to a corporate-NGO alliance to maximize the last mile impact?
  3. Given EY Foundation’s association with the larger group and lasting imprint in the social space, how do you think the CSR Amendment Rules, 2021 can be implemented by leading corporates while simultaneously bringing a measured impact?
  4. In the given day and time, what thematic areas in the social sector need more support and why?
  5. Given the pandemic and how the world has transitioned to digital platforms, would love to hear about how EY Foundation has helped organizations and Governments move to the digital space more inclusively?
  6. EY Foundation is a huge advocate of sustainability, what steps would you suggest that small to mid-sized NGOs can take in terms of organizational development?
