In Conversation with Ms. Anu Mehta, Deputy General Manager and Head - CSR, Honda Cars India Limited

Ms. Anu Mehta currently holds the position of Deputy General Manager and Head - CSR at Honda Cars India Limited. She is a passionate, focused, and experienced professional driven by integrity and strong ethical principles. She is a confident leader with a passion for smart business and community development.

Ms. Mehta has spearheaded several CSR projects in the areas of education, road safety, environment, and health and has been instrumental in uplifting the lives of people in society. She has worked extensively with non-profit organizations and donors on strategy design, immaculate execution of projects, and purposeful impact assessment. She develops and designs strategies and programs to make positive contributions to the community. 

She has more than 25 years of work experience across Human Resources, Industrial relations, Administration, Safety, Security, Legal & CSR. She has worked in several corporate leadership positions in the Automotive as well as the FMCG sector. 

She is a BSc (Honours) graduate from the University of Delhi, and hold an MBA from Spicer Memorial College, Pune

In this Interview, Ms. Mehta answered the following questions: 

  1. How does the initiative to ensure inclusive and equitable education, and promote lifelong learning opportunities for children look like?
  2. Due to the pandemic, the entire landscape of education has changed, so how did you adapt to these changes while ensuring continued access to quality education for the students?
  3. What were some of the challenges that you faced while switching to a digital mode of education during the pandemic?
  4. Recently, you have introduced digital and tech-enabled learning along with the conventional method of learning as a core component of the education intervention, what inspired you to take this approach to improve the learning outcomes of the children?
  5. Could you also elaborate on the integrated model of providing quality education and employment avenues to the students that not only makes them economically empowered in the future but also reflects the commitment of the organization towards youth development?
  6. How are you leveraging partnerships to improve employability and renovate Government schools’ infrastructure?
  7. Lastly, Is the project limited to the current geography only or are you also planning to scale it to other states?
