Project Synopsis

With the switch to online learning on a majority, this facility is not readily available or applicable for the children from low-income schools and has hindered their learning process. An effective strategy is necessary to manage the crisis and build a resilient Indian education system in the long term. Hence, not neglecting the underprivileged children, it is important to provide them access to the same equal learning opportunities as that of the students from educational institutions for better-privileged communities. At the Shelter Homes/Schools that Bhumi works with, there is only one system or one or two mobile phones for an average of 30 children. Thus, to tackle the crisis and resume education for the underprivileged children, Bhumi has evolved to Digital classrooms (a switch from the on-ground model) by enabling IT Tech Support where the learning process is carried out through online methods with the use of the internet. We have been delivering well-curated e-sessions on Maths, English, Computers, Science, as well as life skills to keep their emotional and mental well-being in check. We also conduct other activities to engage and provide a holistic experience for the children such as dance, arts & crafts. This will help children stay connected with their learning capabilities during this ongoing pandemic and resume education once Schools open.
