We all are at home to fight against COVID-19, even due to personal safety many people are self Quarantine. But 'Periods Don't Stop in LOCKDOWN'. Every woman has a right to maintain her menstrual hygiene with dignity in any difficult condition. But in the current financial crisis situation many women like daily wage workers, unorganized labors, hawkers, and maids are unable to maintain once menstrual hygiene because of financial reasons and access to the sanitary pads. Even in some rural as well as remote place areas due to personal safety many small daily needs shops and medical stores are closed and the situation results in unavailability of menstrual absorbents (pads) for the women.

Proposed Project Description

We all Indians are going through a critical situation and facing rapidly growing global issue i.e Corona Virus. Corona Virus avoidance itself is a parcel of health and self hygiene. If we maintain our hygiene and social distancing we can save ourselves and others from this global virus issue. Our life is everyone’s priority now but we all know that due to the lockdown in all over India daily wages workers, unorganized labours, hawkers are going through a crucial situation of financial loss and unemployment from last 10 days and may be for next 30 days more which leads them to face a difficult situation to fulfill basic needs and safety hygiene measures.


As our Prime Minister of India Hon.Narendra Modi already insisted to all organizations and people that, now it's everyone’s priority to take care of their family and provide them all the necessary healthcare facilities with the provision of basic needs of the people.


You all are familiar with Gram Vikas Trust& Desai foundation trust and its contribution towards society. Providing health care facilities is a mission of Gram Vikas trust& Desai Foundation Trust.  We believe that NO person, no matter what their circumstances, should ever have to worry about their basic health needs and it is the necessity of the world now. Gram Vikas Trust& Desai Foundation trust is dedicatedly working on women health and menstrual hygiene.  As an initiative to support the needy women and girls to maintain their hygiene in these economic crises period Gram Vikas trustand Desai Foundation trus thas started a campaign ‘Periods Don’t Stop in LOCKDOWN’.

What is the Campaign? : With the support of team members, volunteers, partner organizations, health workers and government channels Gram Vikas Trust & Desai Foundation Trust  has started a campaign ‘Periods Don’t Stop in LOCKDOWN’.


What we are distributing? : Through this campaign  Gram Vikas trust is providing ‘Packet of 8 Ultrathin  Sanitary Pads’


Who are the beneficiaries? : The home quarantines, daily wages workers, unorganized labours, , homeless people , Women in Rural area,  who are unable to maintain their menstrual hygiene because of financial reasons and limited access to the sanitary pads. The organization is expecting to reach 5000 beneficiaries up to the 15th of April 2020.


Which is the area of Distribution? : We  will be distributing ‘Packet of 8 Ultra Sanitary Pads’ in Bharuch District of Gujarat State 


What is cost Per Packet? : Rs.35 per packet (Packet of 8 Ultra Sanitary Pads)

About Gram Vikas Trust

Gram Vikas Trust (GVT) came into existence as a result of the motivation and personal initiative of its founder, Mr. Ramesh Kasondra, to enhance the socio-economic status of the underprivileged people. Hailing from a rural family, the founder was no stranger to hardships faced by the underprivileged. Having overcome economic and social challenges, due to the backing and economic blessings from certain elder society leaders, the founder set out to do his best to make a positive difference in the lives of fellow underprivileged.
Working with a team of committed people, GVT’s aim has been to secure integrated development through people’s participation. The key areas identified for interventions include child rights, education, health and hygiene, sustainable livelihood, and women empowerment. Our efforts have developed lasting association with government, non-government and corporate organizations as also with the communities and groups with whom we have worked.
