Proposed Project Description

Prayatna has been actively involved with school-going students in imparting them with Environment Education. It is very necessary to enlighten children on the importance of the Environment in our lives and educate them on how no human being or animal can survive without good quality air, plants, and water. Conducting Paryavarn Yoddha School Environment Program is a way of circulating accurate information, and to turn children into conscious & responsible citizens of the country. Conducting programs in schools inform not only the students but also inform the parents and the teachers.

Their School Program includes activity-based lessons on Environmentally Important Topics. They educate school students on how as individuals we are contributing to global warming, how water gets wasted in making of just a simple cotton T-shirt, how ‘global village’ and its food habits are increasing carbon footprint, how single-use plastic gets circulated in the environment and how it has created a burden on the plants. The sessions also include small changes a school student can make to improve the environment. They then coach the students on waste segregation as when we segregate waste, there is the reduction of waste that gets landfilled and occupies space, air and water pollution rates are considerably lowered.

Salient Features

  1. Sensitization of School Authorities and Teachers on Climate Change and Climate Action
  2. 10 Schools will be reached out during the program, which makes approximately 4k students
  3. School students, teachers and their families will be encouraged to make small changes in day to day life which lead to habit, and habits change behavior, causing big impact for climate change and environment
