Rise against Hunger, an international hunger relief organization, aims to show the world that it is, in fact, possible to end hunger by the year 2030. In 2014, RAHI India was created as an independent entity in India, formally registered as ‘Stop Hunger Now India' but later changed to Rise Against Hunger India (RAHI) in 2017.
One of RAHI’s signature programs centers around a hands-on meal packaging activity that provides volunteers the opportunity to package dehydrated, high protein, nutritious meals. Over the past nearly 20 years, RAHI has worked with thousands of volunteers around the globe to package nearly 530 million nutritious meals that have been served to poor and needy communities in 78 countries.
As of March 2019, before COVID19 crisis, RAHI has provided more than 9 million high quality, micronutrient-rich, nutritious meals packaged by over 44,000 volunteers in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Gurgaon, Noida, Patna and many other locations in India. RAHI meals have been in high demand in floods and natural disasters. Through all its projects, RAHI has been able to serve a total of 997,386 children and adults in 14 States.
