Project Synopsis

The primary objective of SKILL ON WHEELS is to enable a large number of youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will improve their theoretical as well as practical knowledge and help them in securing a better livelihood by bringing necessary synergy, oversight, and effective coordination. RAGC aims to bridge the gap between the skilled people required in industry and the unemployed youth by ensuring that the right candidate with a passion for a particular job chooses the right course according to his/her academic background, aptitude, and skill-set.

Proposed Project Description

The proposal combines comprehensive, vocational and educational programs to harness the size, reach and technological resources. A customized bus, retrofitted with all the necessary tools and equipments to promote the Multi Skill vocational training is used. Aligned with the Government of India's 'Skill India' mission, the uniquely designed Mobile Units under 'Skills on Wheels', will travel across the length and breadth of the state, and will spread awareness at grass root level about free skill training programs of PSDM enabling youth in a bid to profoundly change the trajectory of skill training.




The rationale lies in enhancing livelihood opportunities to those who are not yet taking benefit of skill trainings. The target groups include Persons with disabilities (PwDs), youths from construction workers' families, factories, MSME laborers etc. Under this initiative the vehicle duly equipped with tools and other related facilities shall arrive at the locations easily approachable to all people and skill them appropriately.

Duration of the Programme – 360 Hours classroom Training and 120 Hours OJT(On the Job Training)


Candidate Profile / Eligibility: -

  • 10th Pass
  • Age limit 18 to 35 years
  • Valid Aadhar Card
  • Willingness to work in cities and state of residence.


Pre-Operational Activities

1. Community Meetings:

Representatives will visit the project area and will meet the youth and others to know the acceptance of the people towards the project which is an important aspect of mobilizing the target audience. This is an important step for the inception of the project.

2. Mobilization of the Youth:

Candidates who fit into the eligibility criteria will be mobilized by arranging mobilization camps as well as with help of partner NGOs.

3. Mobile Bus / Van Set-Up:

The State of Art Van will be set-up along with the requisite equipment and tools. A customized bus / van, retrofitted with all the necessary tools and equipment shall be setup to offer the proposed Multi Skill vocational training.

4. Screening Test:

Selection and screening of the Mobilized candidates will be done through appropriate assessment tool/s. Screening will be done with proper psychological test as it is mandatory for the project for mental know-how of the candidate. After screening, their registration will be done wherein their complete information will be recorded in registration forms.

5. Partnering with Companies / Industry :

RAGC representatives will visit the local companies / industries to create awareness regarding the proposed initiative and the benefits of hiring skilled manpower leading to mutually beneficial partnership for on-job training and placement of students.

6. Designing of Course Curriculum:

The curriculum of selected job roles will be designed by RAGC Academic experts and shall be in line with NSQF guidelines of NSDC.

7. Faculties / Trainers:

Well trained and experienced faculty / trainers will be engaged for imparting fruitful training.

Operational Activities: 

1. On-board & Practical Training

Rustomjee Academy for Global Careers will be deploying faculties/trainers for conducting the training activities at the training venue specially made to conduct training program. Training will be conducted in batches not exceeding 30 candidates and the training period will be of 16 weeks per batch.

2. Industry Exposure Visits

Interactive teaching methodologies will be adopted while delivering the course module to the trainee. Apart from the regular training, exposure to relevant industry will be provided by organizing special classes and familiarization tours. This will enhance the trainee’s confidence and skills acquired from training and give practical exposure of the related industry.

3. Monitoring

Monitoring of the project will be an ongoing activity with emphasis on qualitative and quantitative aspects of the program. Project progress reports based on monitoring conducted shall be shared as mutually agreed.


Post - Operational Activities 

1. Assessment:

Before the final Assessment, internal assessment will be done at regular intervals to gauge the effectiveness and preparedness. The formal tone and method makes candidates ready to face the interviews with the employers.

2. Placement:

With the help of its Industry network, Rustomjee Academy for Global careers will provide placements across India. The candidates shall be provided a placement interview training to improve their chances of getting selected with the interviewing organisations.

3. Final Report Submission:

The final report will be submitted on successful cycle completion of each batch including the placement of the students.

4. Post-Placement Tracking:

Post successful placement of the student/s, they shall be tracked for a period of 30 days.
