Project Synopsis

A year ago, as the world began a fervent battle against an unprecedented pandemic, they at Sevalaya pivoted to share the load with the help of generous organizations. Yet here are they again, with the resurgence of a virus that has come back deadlier than ever plaguing the nation. And this time, they need help once again to assist more people to get through these difficult times. There is an urgent appeal to well-wishers to help address the COVID-19 second wave in India to procure Oxygen Concentrators, Ventilators, Personal Protective Equipment kits, Hygiene kits and other related equipment’s.

Proposed Project Description

A year ago, as the world began a fervent battle against an unprecedented pandemic, they at Sevalaya pivoted to share the load with the help of generous organisations. They were able to distribute 65,000+ cooked foods via community kitchen to migrants, grocery kits to 6700+ families in Tamil Nadu and Pune, Ventilators and PPE kits to various Government Hospitals in Tamil Nadu.


This year too, to tackle the second wave Sevalaya is looking for support to get through these difficult times. The district health authorities from the Government Headquarters Hospitals in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, districts have been approaching Sevalaya with requests to equip the centers with COVID-19 preventive measures items. The prime goal for such a coordinated partnership is to (1) Protect patients affected by COVID-19 and (2) Protect the frontline healthcare professionals from COVID-19.


The following is Sevalaya’s plan to tackle COVID-19 second wave in Tamil Nadu:

Helping health facilities:

  • Providing support for COVID-19 patients in Govt Hospital across Tamil Nadu.


Helping frontline health workers:

  • Provide personal protective equipment (PPE) kits.
  • Provide dry ration kits.
  • Distribute sanitation kits

To help the community:

  • Raise awareness on COVID-19 safety measures.

Salient Features

  1. Coordinating with the government health system and distributing oxygen concentrators and related medical equipment to the district headquarters hospitals and primary health centers
  2. The medical equipment distributed is lifesaving to those in need
  3. Enabling the treatment to the patients in COVID care centers.
