The afforestation project has a two pronged focus on carbon sequestration and livelihood generation for farmers in the water starved areas of Tamil Nadu. This project is being carried out in Kanchipuram, Tiruvannamalai and Tiruvallur districts in Tamil Nadu. Through this project, a total of 100,000 saplings were planted in the year FY2018. Since the inception of this project in 2013, we have planted 350,000 saplings and have been able to sequester over 5,500 tonnes of CO2 equivalent.
