The Dalmia Bharat Ltd and CSR Box presented6th CSR Impact Awards 2018-2019which was held on the sidelines of the recently concluded 6th India CSR Summit 2019, was a much bigger affair, where the sharpest minds from across the country were present at a forum to discuss and debate issues related to CSR. The CSR Impact Awards is an initiative of CSRBOX (An NGOBOX platform) and Dalmia Bharat Foundation to encourage companies, CSR foundations and CSR implementing agencies to deliver high impacts through CSR projects and adopt multi-stakeholder approach, leading to excellence in project outcomes. This initiative focuses on identifying high impact CSR projects in 14 categories at pan-India level. The Awards seek to appreciate project specific impacts made by the organizations in particular thematic areas, to set benchmark in projects planning to project implementation.

 

This year, the ‘India CSR Summit & Exhibition' looked more promising with 400 companies, 3200 Delegates, 1900 organisations, 70+ startups and innovators, making it the largest development sector forum in Asia was held at Hotel Pullman & Novotel, New Delhi.

 

25 awards were presented to the recipients after an encouraging response of 102 applications contending in various categories.  Present at the awards ceremony were Ms. Shoko Noda, UNDP India and Sh. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Hon. Minister of Jal Shakti, Government of India, Mr. Ajit Menon, Group HR Head, Dalmia Bharat Group & Trustee, DBF and Union Agriculture Minister for State Sh. Kailash Choudhary Visit at CSF.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bhomik Shah, CEO, NGOBOX and CSRBOX shared, "The 2019 event is of greater importance for us as India enters in the sixth year of CSR compliance. Indian businesses spent close to INR 55,000 Cr on development projects in past five years to help India move towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We are happy that we have received an overwhelming response from 102 companies from across the country this year. This is the time for us to take a pause, think, re-think and realign to get the best out of each penny that goes for community impacts".

 

Major highlights of the 6th CSR Impact Awards 2018-2019 were Ericsson India Global Services Private Limited winning the CSR Project of the Year for Use of World Food Programme in collaboration with Government of Odisha.CSR Foundation of the Year is jointly won by Honeywell Hometown Solutions India Foundation and Glenmark Foundation. Company with Best CSR Impacts was awarded to Sterlite Technologies Limited and CSR Implementing Agency of the Year was awarded to Sri Chaitanya Seva Trust.

 

ITC Limited won the Women Empowerment category for the holistic approach for securing livelihoods of rural women and girls. The CSR award for Rural Development and Infrastructure was awarded to TERI (The Energy Resource Institute) for Integrated Rural Development of 40 villages with interventions of Clean Energy, Agriculture, Livelihood, Education, etc.

 

S M Sehgal Foundation won the WASH campaign award for its Water Management program. BOSCH Limited bagged the Skills Development category award for their project BRIDGE for fulfilling the growing need for skilled manpower across sectors in India.

 

In the Healthcare category, the Best CSR award was jointly bestowed on Johnson and Johnson for the project Auxiliary Nurses & Midwives – Bringing healthcare to villages of rural India and BMC Software India Pvt Ltd for the project Prayas -Fight Against Cervical Cancer.PNB Housing Finance Limited bagged the Healthcare category award for large sized projects for Ensuring Holistic Care for Children of Construction Workers through Daycare Centers at Construction Sites.

 

The CSR award for the Education category was given to Friends of Tribal Society for their project “Ekal Vidyalaya -One Teacher schools” for remote tribal and rural children and Hindalco Industries Limited      for Quality Education project.

 

The CSR award for the Environment category was awarded to Kamalnayan Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation for the river basin development approach, rejuvenation of Yashoda river to bring it in to its original shape, recharging ground water and creating water resources for the poor farmers.

 

The CSR award for Livelihoods category was given to RCCPL Private Limited for sustainable livelihood development program to generate revenue in participant’s families by adopting various livelihood activities in adjoining villages of RCCPL cement plant.

 

Special Jury award to given to Sanjeevani Institute of Empowerment & Development (SIED) for its Holistic Rural Development Project (HRDP) in 11 villages of Yavatmal District in Maharashtra
