TVS Motor Company Limited is a multinational motorcycle company that is based out of Chennai, India. Part of the TVS Group, a conglomerate with interest vested in multiple fields. Ranked as the third largest motorcycle manufacturer company of India they produce over 4 million vehicles every year. The company has a sales of 3 million units amounting to a revenue of 20,000 crore INR in 2018-19 alone. It is one of the largest exporters of India and exports it’s products in 60 nations worldwide. Their export metrics awards them the rank of 2nd largest exporter in India.

TVS Motor company has a century long history and was founded in the year 1911. With such a long history of venturing into automobile, finance and other stream, TVS Motor Company Limited does stand as one of the biggest institutions of Indian economy. TVS with time has contributed to the well being and growth of the society in the form of various empowering activities. Their CSR policy is well articulated into vesting proper return to the society that we live in. Their major focus remains on the educational and healthcare awareness and more.

As we afore mentioned TVS Group has a wide array of CSR activities running under their portfolio. These activities are performed by the implementing partners on behalf of TVS alongside them so as to reach the grassroot levels of the initiation. One such major act on behalf of TVS Motor Company is educational interest named as ‘Educational Initiative’. This campaign sees TVS contribute towards the economic development, educational empowerment and health and infrastructure build up. There have been major educational programs, educational infrastructure development and skillset development campaign running under this initiative. The major focus of this initiative lies in the state of Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka. The districts where the campaigns are running currently are Krishnagiri, Tiruvannamalai, Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu; Solan in Himachal Pradesh, Mysuru, Bengaluru and Chamarajanagar in Karnataka. TVS Motor Company Limited implements these educational initiative via its implementing partner Srinivasan Services Trust. This initiative is a major CSR activity of TVS group and with over 9.76 crores spent for F.Y. 2018-19 out of the CSR budget of 13.09 crore, it can be rightly presumed that TVS as a whole is wholeheartedly dedicated towards empowering education in these fields. The program consists of developing educational infrastructure in these areas, running different educational programs, campaigning skillset development and more for the upliftment and betterment of the society and people residing within.

TVS Motor Company Limited has a host of other CSR initiatives also running under their belt and another such act is the ‘Healthcare Initiative’. Their healthcare initiative focusses on providing better health service and diagnosis for patients so that they can allude to better treatment. This campaign is spread across Karnataka and is majorly focussed for people of Anathpur and Bengaluru. TVS Motor Company Limited has vested their thoughts in developing hospital infrastructure, conducting of different medical camps, running of surgeries and making healthcare donations. They also have a subordinate group that helps in facilitating donations of ambulance, healthcare equipment and much more. TVS company also provides free of cost medical care and also helps provide diagnosis, care, consultation and comprehensive levels of medical sophistication. They also provide proper follow up to the patients completely free of charge so that the patients can get proper treatment without having to think of the financial constraints. TVS runs this campaign with a help of implementing agency, i.e. Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. This trust along with TVS company have led a series of healthcare awareness campaigns and also multiple series of medical rehabilitation campaigns. They have spent over 2.6 crores INR during the F.Y. 2018-19 under this initiative out of the 13.09 crore budget under the CSR spend.
