Zerodha launches bike ambulance for Anekal villagers

Zerodha, a well-known financial services company as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) has launched a bike ambulance to ferry critical patients to the nearest hospitals. Choodahalli in Anekal taluk received the customised Royal Enfield bike with a built-in oxygen cylinder. After working on a lot of designs in the past two months the first-of-its-kind prototype in South India was finally launched on Wednesday. Suriya Foundation, an NGO, has not only helped the officials in connecting with Zerodha but also worked on designing the bike ambulance.

"Flanked by Bannerghatta forest and an elephant corridor, it is difficult for the people in the area to reach the nearest Primary Health Centre (PHC). The bike ambulance will go a long way in ferrying patients requiring emergency medical aid to hospital. We worked on a lot of designs, changed and reworked on them in the past two months.

In South India this is the first of its kind," Officer on Special Duty (OSD) and nodal officer, Covid operations, Anekal, Dr Vaishnavi K told The Hans India. In its fight against Covid, Anekal has been able to garner CSR funding. The Anekal Covid wing of the hospital is run through CSR completely. No other taluk has a dedicated Covid hospital supported by CSR.
