CINI Community Initiatives (CINCOMM) is a sister organization of the Child in Need Institute (CINI). It is a Section 8 not-for-profit Company registered under the Companies Act 2013, India. CINCOMM works towards the healthy growth of the underprivileged through solutions that would also create social entrepreneurship opportunities for the community, especially women. CINCOMM presently leads an integrated solution towards proper nutrition for the underprivileged community, especially children and women. CINCOMM focuses on the development and enrichment of health and nutritional elements of preschool children, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women, adults along with people with specialized nutritional demands.
CINCOMM has been supplementing the government-sponsored ICDS programs of West Bengal and Sikkim as well as working in collaboration with other NGOs. CINCOMM’s motive of serving severely and moderately malnourished children, pregnant and lactating women, adolescents, shelter home beneficiaries, and even diseased individuals like tuberculosis, leprosy, and anemic patients have garnered positive response from both the beneficiaries and caregivers. CINCOMM has been responsible to carry out post-distribution capability and capacity-building sessions through campaigning and counseling sessions with health workers, community members, and other stakeholders for awareness generation leading to a sustainable change in society. CINI Community Initiatives mainly work following two models:
CINCOMM has the dual mission of creating community centric, social venture opportunities that can strengthen CINI’s (Child in Need Institute) mission of “sustainable development in health, nutrition, education and protection for the woman and child in need.” The alignment of CINI Community Initiative or CINCOMM to 3 SDG’s of Zero Hunger, Good Health & Well Being, Decent Work and Economic Growth also fulfil the larger mission of CINI as the parent organization. Everything that is done at CINCOMM is aligned with the overarching philosophy of “co-creating sustainable tomorrow” and sustainability is not just a keyword but a way of life at CINCOMM. CINCOMM expertises in providing a multi-faceted solution that addresses health & nutrition, skilling, and livelihood. CINCOMM provides a holistic solution that impacts the visibility and outcome of any intervention. Collaborative data collection analysis and dissemination with governments and private organizations influence the existing policies for revisions required which are helpful in future planning and implementation methodologies.
