Decentralised Fecal Sludge Management using Bio-Digester Technology

Sustainable sanitation is about fecal sludge management without contaminating the soil and ground water. Nirgandh proposes on-site treatment of fecal sludge and breaking the sanitation chain.

For the treatment of the human waste, our bio-digester uses DRDO Anaerobic Microbial Inoculum, wherein the inoculum breaks-down solid feces and converts it into water and traces of methane. The process leaves no sludge. Additionally, almost all the hydrogen is consumed and thus no conversion to ammonia or Hydrogen Sulphide takes place leaving the cabin and the waste water without any foul smell. The process helps in managing fecal sludge on site, hence making the process low cost, environment friendly and sustainable.

When 1 million persons use Nirgandh’s No Flush Toilets, it saves 20 million litres of water per Day and nearly 30,000 tons of Carbon Di Oxide equivalent emission of GHG per year worth almost US$500,000.

Nirgandh's solutions are custom designed for communities depending on size, terrain, climate and budgets. Our solutions are available to CSR Funds, Panchayats, Schools, Households, Municipalities, Religious Organizations, Urban and Rural local bodies through direct sales, rentals and PPP model.

For out Toilets, we use variety of combinations of materials like Mils Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminium, FRP (Fibre Reinforced Plastic), wood and composite boards and fabric.
