The Indian Railways is one of the largest rail networks globally. The railways passengers’ base grew from 3.6 billion to 8.2 billion in the last four decades at an average rate of 4% per annum. Banka BioLoo partners with Indian Railways to ensure a pleasant travel experience for millions of passengers every day. We undertake operations & maintenance (O&M), monitoring of bio-toilets, and controlled discharge toilet systems (CDTS) deployed in the trains.

Banka Earth Foundation was formed with a vision to deliver CSR projects that impact the Environment directly in the  WaSH Sector such as water conservation, water security, water treatment, Sanitation, Health & Hygiene of people. BEF was started by the founders of Banka BioLoo Namita & Sanjay Banka to seek to advance environmental conservation, scientific research, and sanitation and water care–around the world. Banka Bio supports BEF in extending innovative solutions in the WaSH sector.

BISLD - local partner

BAIF Institute for Sustainable Livelihoods and Development (BISLD) is a not-for-profit organization, registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 1956, and formally  established on 16 April 2012.  BISLD is closely associated with BAIF Development Research Foundation, a A reputed non-government organization, founded in 1967 by Dr. Manibhai Desai, a disciple of Mahatma Gandhi.

BISLD’s mission is to create opportunities for gainful self-employment for rural families, especially the disadvantaged sections, ensuring sustainable livelihood, an enriched environment, improved quality of life, and good human values.  This is being achieved through effective use of local resources, an extension of appropriate technologies, and the upgrade of skills and capabilities with community participation. BISLD is a non-political, secular, and professionally-managed organization. The programs of BISLD are being implemented across 13 states of India, through a team of senior development professionals and field implementation staff. The operations are spread over:

• Northern Region – Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan
• Eastern Region – Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh
• Western Region – Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh
• Southern Region – Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka

The multi-disciplinary programs of BISLD and its associate organizations are spread across 300 districts reaching out to over 5 million families. With an innovative and integrated approach to rural development and environmental conservation, the flexibility of the programs enables BISLD to serve the most disadvantaged by addressing the specific needs of each family, village, and local area.
