Keeping in mind the day-to-day challenges faced by visually impaired people, SAKSHAM has introduced a Sonic Labeller, an audio labeling system for individuals who are blind or have low vision. The system consists of a digital pen and labels which contain barcodes that the pen can read. The pen has memory built into it, along with a microphone and speaker system. This allows an individual to place a label, scan it with the pen, and then make an audio recording of what that particular label represents.
It is a pen-like labeling device that is commonly used to identify objects. The device comes with a booklet of reusable washable labels of different sizes which can be tagged with the required information in audio format. Once a message is recorded and tagged to a label, the pen plays the corresponding audio file every time it is brought close to that label. It is commonly used for labeling different containers in the kitchen, drawers, books, medicines, clothes, other objects, etc.
SAKSHAM is a not–for profit Trust established in 2003. It is primarily working for 15 years for the education, rehabilitation, and welfare for persons with visual impairment and print disability. The sole aim of the trust is to empower persons belonging to this marginalized section of society through a variety of strategies.
Our Mission and vision is to empower communities by creating multiple opportunities for the underprivileged for sustainable social upliftment, thus enabling them to emerge as significant contributors in India‘s growth story.
We are unique as we are limiting the limitations and provide complete assistive technology solutions to visually impaired persons for their education and empowerment.

We need Corporates to partner with us for providing these technology solutions to persons with blindness and low vision for overcoming the challenges that are faced by them in their day-to-day life for identifying the objects of their daily use. NGOs partner with Corporates to seek funds for supporting their initiatives and sustain the projects for a greater benefit of the community they are working with. However, without a partnership and collaboration with Corporate sectors, NGOs cannot meet their objectives and deliver quality services to their beneficiaries in a sustainable manner. Hence, Corporate and NGO partnership is crucial for the mutual benefit of both the stakeholders.
