What do our kids eat?
 

Packing a tiffin-box for a child, every day keeping in mind which food is healthy as well as appetising can be a daunting task, especially for toddlers, preschoolers and care centre visitors. Even more daunting is ensuring that they eat what is provided, as children below the age of 6 years are usually fussy about eating their meals.

The difficulty in getting children to eat healthy meals prompted us to undertake this exercise. We randomly photographed the contents of lunch boxes that children brought to Balwadi and Anganwadi centres in different socio-demographic areas, like Mumbai (urban slums), Panvel (semi-urban area) and Karjat (rural).
