SJVN Limited a Schedule-'A' Mini Ratna Category-I under the control of Ministry of Power. is a Public Sector Undertaking established on May 24, 1988 as a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh. SJVN is now a listed company with its shareholder pattern consisting of Government of India, Government of Himachal Pradesh and Public with equity contribution of 59.92%, 26.85% and 13.23% respectively. The present paid-up capital and authorized share capital of SJVN are Rs.3929.80 crore and Rs.7000 crore respectively. The total capital of SJVN as on 31.03.2022 is Rs.13128.61 crore.
The company has commissioned eight projects with a total installed capacity of 2091.5 MW since its inception as a single project and single state operation (viz. India's largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Electric Station in Himachal Pradesh). SJVN is currently executing power projects in India in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat, besides India's neighboring countries such as Nepal and Bhutan.
