About the company

IndusInd Bank Limited is a Mumbai based Indian new generation bank, established in 1994. The bank offers commercial, transactional and electronic banking products and services. IndusInd Bank was inaugurated in April 1994 by then Union Finance Minister Manmohan Singh. Indusind Bank is the first among the new-generation private banks in India. The bank started its operations with a capital amount of Rs. 1 billion among which Rs. 600 million was raised by the Indian Residents and Rs. 400 million was raised by the Non-Resident Indians. The bank has specialized in retail banking services and continuously upgrades its support systems by introducing newer technologies. It is also working on expanding its network of branches all across the country along with meeting the global benchmark. According to the bank, its name is derived from the Indus Valley Civilisation.

CSR Foundation Description

IndusInd Foundation

The IndusInd foundation is a non profit and charitable unit of the IndusInd Group, established in 1993 with the objective of channelizing community resources for public good and also to provide a powerful integrated forum to pool the community resources for public good and to meet the community's aspirations for philanthropy and charity. The Foundation promotes a number of welfare schemes, the most popular scheme being grant of 'IndusInd Scholarship Scheme. Disbursements of the scholarships take place at small functions organized at various branches of the Bank especially in New Delhi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Bhopal, Baroda, Ahmedabad, Indore etc and Over 400 students have benefited from this scheme. The Foundation is registered under Section 12 A (a) of Income Tax Act and donations to it qualify for deduction under Section 80 (G) of Income Tax Act.
