About the organization
This conviction, that rural India is a storehouse of talent, is backed by our belief that it is essential to nurture the natural inclinations of children and provide them with holistic education so that they are prepared to secure a better future for themselves, their families, and the community, prompted us to start the Great India Talent Foundation (GITF) in 2016 The Great India Talent foundation (GITF) aspires to educate, enable and empower children of rural communities in India by setting up multiple educational institutions that will provide them with the options to pursue higher education in their fields of interest. First Great India Talent School (GITS) was opened in 2017 at Kashirampara, North Tripura.
With holistic development and welfare of children at its core, the Great India Talent Foundation is our humble attempt to uphold children’s Right to Education and Right to Food. Through this endeavor, we seek to contribute towards a world where children do not have to forfeit their dreams and aspirations. We want to fulfill the desire of marginalized families to provide their children with education, which though commonplace across the length and breadth of the country, often remains unfulfilled because of the financial burden associated with it. We want to provide children access to proper schooling, thus giving their parents the freedom to channelize their energy and resources towards other important aspects of life.
Provides tasty, nutritious, and hygienic Mid-day meal as an incentive to come to school with support from The Akshaya Patra Foundation
Alongside formal education, GITF strives to equip children with effective communication, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and critical thinking skills
Extracurricular activities such as sports, cultural programmes, etc are also encouraged to help children develop various skill sets
Exposure to developments in India and all over the world through films and talks by an expert as well as periodic visits to farming communities, industries, institutions, etc
Through Agri- farms children are introduced to nature and the need to care for the environment
Community involvement is integral to the GITF initiative, and therefore their inputs and efforts are of immense value.
Why should a corporate partner with organization?
The Great India Talent Foundation (GITF) believes that a well thought- out Governance policy is key to an organisation's success, as adherence to it helps the organisation perform efficiently and ethically while creating value for its stakeholders.
GITF strives for excellence through the adoption of laws, regulations, and best practices. We believe that transparency, in the context of financials and operations, in particular, adds to the accountability of our initiatives and the organisation's as a whole
Our Governance practices also reflect the culture of trusteeship, which is an important component of our value system. This Governance philosophy of GITF is in line with its affiliate organisation, The Akshaya Patra Foundation.
