About the organization
ETASHA Society, a not-for-profit organization, has been working since 2006 to skill underprivileged communities for sustained employment and income generation. They envision a future where every Indian is self-reliant, has self-worth and leads a dignified and productive life. They work with youth in low-income communities, and their influencers, to empower them with the skills, confidence and mindset required for modern-day work environments. The end-goal is to develop an ecosystem where skills are valued and respected, and people are enabled to work with dignity and self-respect.

Approach & Intervention model
Based on their belief that for effective and sustainable change in mindsets of youth, supportive change is required in the thinking of all other significant members of their ecosystem, they work with a systemic, community centric approach to bring about a positive impact on employment and income generation of youth. Their interventions are specifically designed for school-going adolescents, young girls and boys, teachers, adult women and men, families, school systems, social institutions and the organised work sectors.
Reach and impact
ETASHA implements projects relevant for employment and income-generation, and, as of 30.11.20, they have impacted a total of 1,72,043 people directly, including deep engagement with a total of 39,219 people including 10,534 youth, 27,320 adolescents, 1155 adult women including 162 women entrepreneurs, and 210 adult men through interventions in several areas.
Geographical Reach
ETASHA has an All-India Registration, and they have executed projects in Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Himachal and Haryana. Currently, they are working in and around 5 communities including two in Delhi – Devli-Khanpur-Sangam Vihar and Mangolpuri-Sultanpuri which are large slum and slum resettlement clusters as well as one slum in NOIDA, UP, and in two rural communities of Janouli and Pataudi in Haryana. They have also collaborated with several NGOs to run programs in their locations in the NCR region.

Why should a corporate partner with organization?
The primary cause that ETASHA works with is Skill Development for Employment and Income Generation for the Underprivileged. Included in and aligned with this cause are causes like ‘All-round development and quality education for adolescents’, ‘Economic, social and emotional self-reliance for girls’, ‘Employment for underserved youth’ and ‘Livelihood generation and self-reliance for Women’. As of 01.10.20, ETASHA’s projects relevant for employment & income-generation and Corona Relief, have impacted a total of 200607 lives. They have had deep engagement through training with a total of 38036 people including 10477 youth, 26458 adolescents and 891 aspiring women entrepreneurs. Over 70% of youth completing their job-linked programs have got placed in organized sector industries and 9 groups of women have set up self-owned enterprises for income generation. ETASHA works with the socio-economically underprivileged communities in both rural and urban India. Currently, they are working in 4 urban slum communities including three in Delhi - Madanpur Khadar, Khanpur-Devli and Mangolpuri-Sultanpuri which are large slum and slum resettlement clusters as well as one in Sector 10 in NOIDA, UP. They have a large community oriented project in village Janouli in Palwal District in Haryana and well as an Adolescent girls oriented project in Patoudi and Hailey Mandi Tehsils in Haryana. Their projects have been supported in the past by many corporates, foundations and multilateral organizations.
