Arunodaya Charitable Trust (ACT) has reached out to 16,87,123 needy patients since 1990 in Gurgaon city (NCR), Haryana State. And has done over 52,000 sight-restoring surgeries. The primary objective is to restore vision and reverse the tide of curable blindness, increase eye care awareness in society, enhance knowledge and skills transfer amongst the eye care professionals and people, and provide comprehensive eye care to the community it serves. Arunodaya Charitable Eye Hospital has strengthened its capacity to provide specialty in eye care services. The strengthening is both by way of infrastructure development and human resource development. It is now in a position to provide an enhanced volume of service at the highest quality.
ACT also runs an active mobile eye care unit to reach out to the underprivileged in urban and rural areas. It provides services in, and around Gurgaon villages to make primary eye carefree, and also school screening camps are conducted. ACT has already rendered its service to 100 villages in and around Gurgaon and 75 Government school children were provided with free eye care services.Patients screened at the camps who require further screening, treatment, and surgeries are referred to the base hospital and are provided either completely free of cost or at the subsidized cost depending upon their socio-economic status and their willingness to contribute to the services. All cases receive state-of-the-art surgical expertise and undergo an Intra Ocular Lens implantation.
Dr. Arun Sethi and Dr. Reena Sethi are ophthalmologists. They are highly motivated to provide eye care service to communities across all sections of society. In 1990 when they had just started eye practice in New Delhi, a chance encounter with visiting physician Dr. EW Jackson, MD, founder of Deseret Foundation led to Arunodaya Charitable Trust.

Arunodaya Deseret Eye Hospital (ADEH) follows a cross-subsidy model, wherein nearly 70 % of the out patients are treated free or at a nominal fee, targeted at the economically weaker sections from the rural areas of Haryana.
