About the organization
Learning Links Foundation
The Learning Links Foundation is a not for profit, working in the field of formal and non formal education. The Trust, established in 2002, with the mission to “Empower Lives”, has been working across India and the Asia region, for improving quality in education, strengthening citizenship amongst youth, harnessing the power of technology for educational and social improvement and supporting sustainable social innovation.
Most importantly, LLF is linked with communities: students, youth, parents and grassroot organizations. Unbiased initiatives seek to reach the poor, disadvantaged or isolated. Like the one that promotes entrepreneurship and scientific temperament among girls; or community development programmes that use ‘shared infrastructure’ where youth from the community can use school infrastructure like computers and playgrounds after school hours. Programmes themselves are executed by resources culled from the local community, which gives a sense of ownership and promotes sustainability.
In all, we aim to improve systems so that more people are more able to create the futures they envision for themselves, their communities and societies. The work at Learning Links carries us into new initiatives, engaging with a growing network of partners creating a synergy where initiatives truly work together and create an impact across all ages.
Domain of our Work:
We work actively with education stakeholders, leaders and policy makers to improve education systems, enhance curricula, reform assessment and leverage technology solutions to enhance the teaching – learning process.
Through our work we try to disseminate innovative ideas about learning, provide solutions on how to create a more equitable society and promote ways in which communities can sustain each other in a fast changing wired world.
For us, education, citizenship, technology and entrepreneurship are intimately connected. They help us create a better future.
Areas of Work:
Formal Education:
Education in our view is about transforming people, so they develop new abilities, skills and feel empowered. Learning Links Foundation is one of the largest and most respected education enhancement and education skill building organizations in India, and has been involved in offering highly innovative educational solutions to partners across the country.
Non-Formal Education:
Lifelong learning is becoming a part of modern life. Given the need for a strong foundation in learning, those who miss out on basic education suffer exclusion. An opportunity for lifelong learning enables people to take advantage of new opportunities that arise as society changes. The Foundation provides opportunities for the unemployed by equipping them with the right skills.
Citizenship:
Learning Links Foundation is committed to spreading an understanding of the principles of democracy and human rights by way of engaging students. The active citizenship initiative is designed to support students with the knowledge, skills and values required for responsible participation in communities and local government.
Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship:
Learning Links Foundation with its decade long involvement in the field has identified the need for next-generation capacity development of student teachers, teachers and school leaders to cater to the ever-increasing growth of the education sector market. The Foundation has launched a program for empowering teachers and student teachers with entrepreneurial skills, which would result in multi-fold expansion of scope for job opportunities after teacher training.
