About the organization
iVolunteer’s sole mission is to bring volunteers and organizations together to share their time, passion and skills to promote India's social development. iVolunteer had its humble beginnings in 2001 in Delhi, thanks to the joint efforts of Shalabh Sahai and Rahul Nainwal, both graduates from the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA). Today, iVolunteer serves close to 10,000 volunteers every year through a range of programs. We partner with a strong network of 300+ credible non-profits across India through iVolunteer Centres in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Pune.
iVolunteer promotes volunteering by aiming to impact 12 social development areas - education, poverty alleviation, environment, health, HIV-AIDS, gender equality, human rights, disability, youth welfare, elderly welfare, child welfare and active citizenship. We achieve our mission by working closely with volunteers through a range of initiatives and a large network of individuals, NGOs and corporates. Over the last decade, we have expanded to reach out to individuals in more then 10 cities and have reached to more than a lakh of individuals.
iVolunteer facilitates volunteering by enabling individuals and corporate employees to volunteer with credible development organisations in urban and/or rural set-up, alongside raising volunteer awareness, creating volunteer projects and enhancing organisations’ capacities to manage volunteers. We also provide unique opportunity for professional Indians to share their skills to fight poverty beyond India, while widening their understanding of international perspectives on development, for a better support of India in the future.
iVolunteer’s programs have been supported by the most credible charitable foundations and we have also developed strategic employee volunteering partnerships with some of the top companies operating in India.
