About The Organization

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is an autonomous body established under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The FSSAI has been established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 which consolidated all regulations related to food safety in India. FSSAI is responsible for protecting and promoting public health through the regulation and supervision of the food sector.

With over 130 crore Indian citizens, the task of ensuring safe and wholesome food to every individual can only be accomplished if food safety is seen as a shared responsibility. A culture of safe and nutritious food can be built by nudging the country to Eat Right, by Eating Safe and Eating Healthy, and this can only be done through a joint effort.

Several projects and models of collaboration under CSR/voluntary initiatives have been piloted successfully and based on the learnings, a systematic framework for sustained engagement has now been developed to propagate “The Eat Right Movement ”. To enhance the scale of such collaborative efforts, FSSAI has put together a shelf of projects for ease of adoption and effective outreach across the length and breadth of the country. These SNF projects can be easily adopted by corporates.
