About the organization
Navya Disha is a registered public charitable trust with a mission to empower rural communities, it was established in 2005 at Bangalore, Karnataka. The aim was to work with rural communities in the field of education, health, personal hygiene, climate change, water and sanitation, vocational skills and bring positive behavioural changes, instil life skills, enhance confidence among youth and women. Navya Disha has established field offices in Tumakuru, Belagavi, Erode, Nagpur, Indore and Jabalpur. It has its Head office in south Bangalore. The Trustees of Navya Disha have been in the rural development field for over 3 decades.
Navya Disha worked as an exclusive CSR partner of CreditAccess Grameen Limited (formerly known as Grameen Koota) a microfinance institution since 2009. Navya Disha’s flagship project was to raise awareness on the importance of safe sanitation and clean drinking water. Navya Disha has reached over 10 million women educating them about the importance of safe sanitation by leverage the extensive women SHG network of Grameen Koota across Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh.

Projects at Navya Disha
Over the last 15 years, the Trust has successfully implemented various projects in several parts of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh. Some of the successful projects implemented are in the field of WASH, Indoor Air pollution, education, climate change, agriculture, vocational skills, health care, women empowerment, financial literacy, health camps, menstrual hygiene management programs, stress management, career guidance, cancer screen camps etc.

Navya Disha believes in collaborations and partnerships. Since its inception, the Trust has built a strong partnership with Grameen Koota. It was able to reach over 10 million people in various rural and urban areas. Navya Disha has also got funding support from various organizations, corporates and foundations. They strongly believe that in unity lies their strength and they can change the world for the better only when such strength is acquired by like-minded entities who then multiply the positive energy exponentially. Great things emerge from meaningful collaborations and hence Navya Disha believes that when a corporate partners with them, together they can achieve a greater good by aligning their visions for synergic advantage and benefit the society at large. Their impact numbers reflect that they thrive in partnerships. The project wise snippets of the reach of their interventions include:- Under the project Sushikshana- 4,21,783 Children were trained on the importance of Safe Sanitation and Clean Water; 4,11,708 Children were trained on Career Guidance & 4,32,418 Children were trained on Financial Literacy. Uner Women Empowerment area over 2 lakh women were trained on Financial Literacy and Self-Management; Breast & Oral Cancer Screening was conducted for nearly 2,000 women in association with Narayana Health Care & Niramai Institutions. Under the Climate Change & Sustainable Agriculture area around 500 farmers were trained on sustainable agriculture practices such as soil management, natural / organic farming, water management, pest & disease control.
