GENESIS AND GROWTH OF REACHING HAND:
A group of passionate professionals, who always believe in change, felt the need of doing something for the society and wanting to give back, put their heart, mind, and resources together and formed Reaching Hand. The organization was formed and registered as charitable trust vide registered no. 8546/95-96 in the year 1996 in Bangalore.
Initially the aim of Reaching Hand was to help the needy and deserving children by providing scholarship and support them in their higher education. Now it has broadened its vision and started focusing on providing holistic development to children, youth and women who are vulnerable in nature so that they can integrate themselves to the mainstream. Our programs are designed to contribute towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with reference to ending poverty and hunger, universal education, child health and maternal health. Reaching Hand is very much committed to its vision of transforming lives of children, youth and women thus impacting society at large.
Reaching Hand’s operations are managed out of the Head Office in Bangalore, with programs PAN India, especially in the state of Karnataka. The operational decisions are made by the Management Team with strategic oversight from the Board of Trustees Funding of Reaching Hand comes from a variety of sources including individuals through direct donations as well as funding agencies and corporates. Reaching Hand practices integrity and are unflinchingly and consistently honest and transparent in thoughts and actions.
Staff strength:
The organization has 51 fulltime and 2 part-time staffs who are passionate about bringing change and committed to make difference in the communities with their skills, experiences, exposure, and training.
