Through technical expertise in Climate Action, Risk Reduction, and Habitat Improvement, AKAH India assists communities to become more resilient. It is a Section 8 nonprofit organization and is a member of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). While AKAH India primarily works in three strategic states, namely Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Telangana, the organization also has initiatives in other states. All initiatives are aimed at achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6 (clean water and sanitation), 7 (affordable clean energy), 11 (sustainable cities and communities), and 13 (climate action). AKAH India is committed to the long-term development of marginalized and vulnerable communities. Through its various projects and field employees' participation, AKAH India has directly reached 1.5 million individuals. Following a collaborative model, the organization engages with key stakeholders at the national, state, and city levels. It employs innovation and technological integration to affect a paradigm shift in climate action and to equip communities to respond to and mitigate risk. AKAH India looks forward to collaborating with organisations and institutions that share a commitment to promoting a culture of preparedness, safeguarding key infrastructure, ensuring access to basic services, and building housing that is resilient to climate change.
