Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust is a non-profit organization that was established in 1967 by Mr. Mahendra Mehta. It was set up in order to tackle the problems of poverty in Mumbai, especially amongst young children. From its humble origins as a family institution it has grown rapidly, and our projects have covered a wide range of activities located in both India and other developing countries.

Ratna Nidhi strives to empower underserved children, youth and the disabled community through relevant support services like education, clothes, books, food and using innovative technology solutions in the area of disability.

Ratna Nidhi has achieved the following milestones in serving underserved communities in India till date. We have:

• Distributed over 2.5 lakh mobility equipment’s to disabled patients free of cost.
• Donated over 11 lakh garments since 1992.
• Served over 2.5 crore meals to underprivileged children in Mumbai since 1998.
• Provided over 390 children whose parents were victims of terror attacks with educational scholarships.
• Donated over 9 lakh books to 4000 schools and colleges in India through the Mission Million Books Project.
• Donated over 5000 spectacles in partnership with Essilor Vision Foundation
• Organized a mega medical camp in Chandrapur, Maharashtra in December 2019 in partnership with ACC Trust which impacted 10,000 beneficiaries in the district.

3. Scalable and Sustainable Model: Most of our processes are designed for speedy execution, to be resourceful (more with less), and have scalability in size and geography. Having a flat organization structure and enterprise MIS systems enables speedy yet data driven decision making across all projects.
4. Regular Reporting: We are meticulous in reporting and pay a lot of attention to create transparent reporting with clear numbers and stories of transformation. 

At Ratna Nidhi we strive to create lasting impact on the communities we work for. We leverage cutting edge technology to create social change. In collaboration with Google Foundation and IIT Mumbai we have developed the first of its kind 3D printed leg, which will impacts thousands of disabled people in India and across the globe.  We believe in a collaborative way of working and have been successful in forging successful partnerships with the Government of Maharashtra, Essilor Vision Foundation, ACC Trust, World Bank, Pratham Education Foundation and many more. Most of our projects have been scalable and sustainable over the years. Our Mobility camps have traveled to remote places in Leh and Kargil, amongst other locations in India. We have donated over 9 lac books in 4 years by organizing book exhibitions in Mumbai, Pune, Baramati, Satara, Indore and Nagaland. During COVID-19, we launched a Khichdi program that feeds 10,000 daily wage workers in Mumbai.

We are also meticulous in reporting and pay a lot of attention to create transparent reporting with clear numbers and stories of transformation. We have a state of the art MIS and CRM software that helps us track and report our projects consistently.
