About the organization

Vihaan - that means ray of light or the dawn in Sanskrit - stands for hope and freedom. Everything we do is directed at bringing light into the lives of the survivors we serve.
Vihaan is registered as Waste Management Society. We work at the grassroots to tackle the heinous crime of human trafficking with the aim of making all forms of trafficking and exploitation a rarity across regions. Since 2012,our work has helped save many lives, brought hope to the hopeless, and given them new beginnings.
We seek to model, institutionalize and scale effective solutions specific to the crime of human trafficking and other forms of abuse and exploitation. We work with victims of sexual abuse and exploitation, bonded and child labour, domestic servitude and beggary.Vihaan brings together a team of experts - social workers, counsellors, lawyers and researchers - to fight the crime. Through the work we do, we implement a number of frontline efforts and programs directed at eliminating all forms of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. The uniqueness of Vihaan lies in the victim centric, multidisciplinary, end-to-end approach to facilitate rescue, provide access to legal support leading to justice, as well as provide rehabilitation and reintegration services to survivors.
Our Vision:

Why should a corporate partner with organization?

With a long-term vision to see trafficking and exploitation become a rarity, in collaboration with the State and other like-minded organisations, Vihaan has been able to make significant in-roads into anti- human trafficking work in the past nine years. Through our work at the grass roots, we have a rich experience from all our casework, which is varied, demands close monitoring and innovative approaches to address it. In light of this, not only are we seen as experts and have we been invited as resource persons for training the police, judiciary and the social welfare department but also have given our recommendations on legislative issues related to Anti Human trafficking.
To tackle the issue of human trafficking, our preventive interventions address a cross section of thematic issues such as providing access to education, employment opportunities, community development, livelihood generation and Health care.
We have a team of committed, competent and qualified professionals, most of whom are backed with years of experience in the related area of work.
We have a very robust and efficient system of capturing the entire complex process of the project on the case management system which archives data for review, learning and analysis to critically evaluate and monitor the different facets of our work to measure its impact.
