About the organization
Clubfoot is a congenital deformity that severely twists the foot downward and inward, making walking difficult or impossible. Two out of every 1000 children born in every country in the world regardless of race or geographic region suffer from clubfoot. Over 2,20,000 children, in the developing world are born each year with clubfoot and India alone accounts for almost 1/4th of these children with a population of over 50000 children born with clubfeet. India itself has more than 50,000 children born with the clubfoot deformity.
Though completely eradicated from western developed countries through early identification and right treatment, Clubfoot still remains one of the causes for permanent disability in the rest of the world due to lack of treatment facilities and awareness among parents and especially among the medical practitioners up to some extent.
CURE International India Trust (CIIT) has been working for over 11 years providing affordable and effective non surgical interventions to permanently correct the clubfoot. Using the Ponseti Technique it has effectively treated over 50,000 children and is currently working with an additional 15,000, offering free, world class treatment through 314 designated weekly clubfoot clinics in partnership with 29 state Governments through its partnership with 29 state governments.

Why should a corporate partner with organization?
While CIIT, through its clinics, has touched the lives of over 70000 children with clubfoot, a lot of work needs to be done yet. CIIT spends about INR 10,000/- per child during the initial course of treatment. This includes the cost of Foot Abduction Brace that the child requires. It is estimated that a child requires 3 braces in a year to maintain the correction of the feet. CIIT also owns a production center where differently abled persons have been trained provided the necessary skills for the manufacturing of these special shoes. In an average, 100 special shoes are being manufactured by the team daily. Their partners don’t only support clubfoot children but also indirectly provide a sustainable future to these people. CIIT’s vision therefore is to eliminate the disability of clubfoot by making the treatment accessible and affordable by every individual. This is only possible through the partnership and networking of likeminded people.
