About the organization
With high hopes of uplifting the lives of the rural poor, the genesis of Rehab India Foundation was laid on 17th March, 2008. Our aim was to rehabilitate the marginalised section of Rural India with a better standard of living by the channelling the building rocks of a just society i.e. Education, Health, Economic Development.
The journey started with the adoption 51 families in a riot hit village in Assam where we started building houses for the people of the village, leading to their complete rehabilitation in May, 2011. With the success of our first Rehab Model Village, we continued further with the adoption of 85 villages in parts of Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, Karnataka, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. Today, Rehab runs a full-fledged Village Development Programme that runs for 5 years for the village adopted along with important short-term programmes.

Why should a corporate partner with organization?
As per the national data, Poverty in Bihar is the highest among all the states of India. The low performance of Bihar in achieving Millennial Development Goals is not a short-term problem. The state is one of the India’s largest and most densely populated state, with one-twelfth of country’s population. The extent to which the country as a whole can achieve significantly better poverty and Human outcomes is linked to the level of development in Bihar. At current rates of project, Bihar is projected to fall behind most of the MDGs target, thus adversely impacting the lives of rural population of the country. Rehab India Foundation has been working in Bihar since last 10 consecutive years to provide them basic needs like Education, Healthcare, sanitation and employment. In order to build a transformational project that not only brings change but also proves to be revolutionary in the Non-Profit world, Rehab is currently working in more than 50 villages by adopting them under its integrated Village Development Programme.
In Rehab’s adopted villages, students in Rehab’s Remedial Tuition Centre have received total scholarship of Rs.60, 23,040 through both state and central government scheme, more than 2,398 drop-out students have been brought back to schools through Rehab’s intervention within the communities, our Healthcare programme has led to the successful installation of hand-pumps, water tanks and community toilets in the villages. There are total 566 Self Help Group members enrolled under the Cooperative Society Act, 1919 in the villages of Bihar.
Therefore, we feel that we can built the gap that exists between the most deprived section of our country and their basic needs. We believe, we will be able to showcase our learnings and experiences from the groundbreaking works undertaken by Rehab in the most backward communities to raise awareness and bring the Industry’s attention to the same. The collaboration will help us to have an edge in measurable and scalable impact within the most backward villages of rural India.
