About the organization

Ekam Foundation is an NGO that works to reduce child and maternal deaths by improving the overall well-being and health of the community. Ekam was born out of a simple vision: no child should be denied the right to healthcare. It believes that any social problem requires a multi-pronged approach, and the way to realizing healthy and happy babies requires interventions in various ecosystems: healthcare, communities, and maternal health and well-being. Ekam works to strengthen public healthcare systems, not replace it.

Ekam also believes that healthcare is not a standalone component, but comprises several overlapping wellness indicators including, but not limited to, sanitation, waste management, education, and nutrition. Small, incremental shifts in several ecosystems have the power to snowball into major paradigm shifts. Keeping this in mind, Ekam works with hospitals, mothers, communities, expectant mothers (and fathers), youth, and communities to help create better health outcomes.

The 10+ years in the field has helped Ekam create a holistic flagship initiative for health and well-being: The Sustainable Well-Being Initiative, which helps communities take ownership of public health and wellness services.

Why should a corporate partner with organization?

Ekam’s vision of “Healthy and happy children, mothers and communities” needs support: individuals, communities, governments, and corporates.By partnering with Ekam, your corporate will contribute directly to saving lives of children and mothers, and strengthening communities.

Ekam offers several opportunities for partnering including, but not limited to: funding existing programmes, codesigning and implementing innovative programmes in community healthcare, and volunteering.

Our pan-India presence offers opportunities for corporates to implement programmes in their own geographies. Ekam’s agility means that new programmes can be designed and implemented within a short period of time, while maintaining impact. Because Ekam works closely with government systems, the opportunity for scale and impact is large.

Our strong documentation and communication protocols are closely aligned with the UN SDGs, for a seamless partnership experience.
