About the organization
GLRA works with a vision of ‘’a world in which no one suffers from leprosy, tuberculosis and other poverty-related diseases and the consequences they bring, such as physical disability and social exclusion’’. GLRA believes in community participatory approach through individuals, communities, grass root CSOs, stake holders with the aim of creating a sustainable impact. GLRA had worked with wide range of community segments, including marginalized and socially excluded segments, on Humanitarian Aid, Disaster Management, WASH specific and other health related interventions in the past. GLRA believes that health is not just freedom from disease. It concerns wellbeing in all areas of life. Improvements in sanitation, water supplies, nutrition and housing will be reflected in better health in the community. Such improvement can only be achieved by helping people to work out their own priorities and take their own action in tackling poverty. We have even involved people to make their own projects by giving guidance and actively involving people to contribute.
GLRA India’s core expertise is in robust program management with people who have been engaged in managing a similar large- and small-scale projects in health and social sector. GLRA has more than 50 years of experience in knowing the context, key needs of the underserved populations and gaps in the system and in keeping the stakeholders interested and engaged throughout as evident from our niche position in India. The USP of GLRA lies in our proven expertise in catalysing an effective community demand as well as in supporting the supply of services through right systemic capacities in the public health system at all levels for an appropriate timely response. Most importantly, we have a very strong financial management system using WINPACCS that ensures complete transparency and optimizes the use of resources by significantly reducing the risks associated with wasteful expenditure.

Why should a corporate partner with organization?
As corporates are consciously making a choice to advocate a social cause or extend help in solving humanitarian crises, there is a need for strategic CSR which leads to more effective giving, and on-ground implementation. In an endeavour to make this possible, GLRA-India collaborates with the private sector to execute projects across its thematic areas. With the professional expertise and grassroots experience within GLRA, we ensure that the CSR impacts not only the marginalized communities but also makes the ‘giving’ experience more strategic for the corporate.
