About The Organization

HCL Foundation, established in 2011, is a gold standard not-for-profit that uses international Development standards to implement programs that bring lasting impact to the lives of people across urban and rural areas of India. It is the CSR arm of HCL, a global conglomerate, with a vision to create source code for sustainable socio-economic development. HCL Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of those who need it most by working to solve critical community development and environmental challenges across various work areas: Education, Health, Livelihood and Environment, as well as providing humanitarian aid and rehabilitation support.  The Foundation was formed on the belief that every HCL employee can make a difference and is funded through employee and organizational contributions. All programmes are implemented with support from employee volunteer group called the Catalysts for Social Change (CSC).  Around 37,000 HCLites contribute Rupee 1 per day from their salary for community work. This fund is matched by the management for sustaining the programs. More than 19,000 employees spend a day, every week or month or year or even one hour every day for community service. Driven by values of equity and service, Power of One continues to strengthen communities while building the competencies and engagement levels of employees.

Vision: To create a source code for sustainable socio-economic development

Goal: To alleviate poverty and achieve inclusive community growth and development. We do this by engaging the communities where we work to ensure that we make optimal long-term investments in education, health, livelihoods and environment, as well as providing disaster response and rehabilitation support.

Mission: To create clean, green and healthy communities where everyone is empowered and equipped to reach their full potential. Full engagement with our employees and partners showcasing and establishing international standards of planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation in community development.
HCL Foundation works in rural and urban areas towards poverty alleviation through long term investments in holistic education, employability, environment, health, water, sanitation and hygiene, and disaster response. Gender transformative and inclusive approaches form the backbone of the overall program strategy. There is a heavy focus on young people as they form majority of the world’s population. Having said that, HCL Foundation does not limit its interventions to this age group alone. Rather, works through an integrated community development approach. These projects essentially contribute to Nation Building and the Global Sustainable Development Goals.
