The 2019 Indian floods were a series of floods that affected over thirteen states in late July and early August 2019, due to incessant rains. India received the heaviest monsoon rainfall in 25 years as per the Indian Meteorological department. The monsoon normally begins in June and ends by September, but its delayed retreat this year has sparked floods that have resulted in causalities and property damages. Assam, Bihar Kerala, Karnataka and Maharashtra were the most severely affected states.

Following floods afflicting people on large scale across India, Adobe has partnered with ActionAid Association to bring relief to flood survivors from marginalised sections of society in terms of distribution of relief kits and rehabilitation to the five most affected states.

• Under the project the urgent needs of the states post disaster were  taken into consideration keeping in focus the most affected and marginalized communities.  
• In Assam, the need is of restoring livelihoods of the most affected population with effective interventions to bring incomes to the families. The project would concentrate on assisting affected communities with a farming kit to restore agriculture – comprising of seeds, fertilizers and a few necessary tools (only to those who most require these). We would be supporting the Rabi crops like mustard, groundnuts and potatoes and vegetables would be helpful in rapidly restoring livelihoods of people who otherwise risk further indebtedness and impoverishment. 
• In Bihar and Maharashtra, the immediate needs of the victims in the affected villages include access to clean & safe drinking water and hygiene materials. 
• Education Kits for children in Kerala so that the children can continue their learning process and in Karnataka solar lanterns will be distributed.
