Adarsh Foundation has been making pioneering efforts in the field of blood donation since its inception in 2015. For ease of access in receiving blood when in need, ACF has developed a mobile app ‘Adarsh Blood Donors’ that can be downloaded both from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Once registered as donor, one becomes a part of a vast network spanning across the country.

Adarsh Blood donors’ app, puts you in touch with the donors around you. You can choose the city, and which blood group you require and the app tells you the available donors. As a donor, there is an option of making yourself available or unavailable for blood donation, at any given point in time. The information about the donor is kept confidential, and the calls are routed through the helpline.

The mobile application has seen 2,000+ downloads and 1000 being active users of the app. The app is GPS-enabled and gives access to registered available donors nearby in any part of the country. Currently foundation has about 14700 registered donors in their network where 50,000 members have been added to the directory and foundation aims to have 1 lakh donors registered by the year 2020.

Outcome (Impacts) of the project

• Number of members using app- More than 2000 registered members with 1000 active members using this app
• Number of blood donors- 14700 donors in the data base with 50,000 offline donors registrations
• Number of calls received by the Adarsh Blood donors call center- Through it is initiated from 2015, as of Aug, 2017 the average number of calls per day has increased from 0 to 5 call per day.
• Number of blood donation camps done- 326 Blood donation camps and 278 blood grouping camps have been organised by Adarsh Foundation
• Quantity of blood collected- 7780 units of blood has been collected through blood donation camps
