Project Description
Lamp: To move towards universal elementary education (UEE) and coverage for children of the migrant salt workers of the age group of 6 to 14 years in Kutch.
Lamp Pathways: To support students especially girls to continue their education at the secondary level and to increase the demand for – and promote improved retention and learning in – secondary education.
AIF-2005, TCSRD -2009-12. After 2012 the partnership was not direct but part of the consortium between TSCRD, AIF and CFT.
36 direct intervention villages and 42 indirect villages of Rapar and Bhachau
Total spending on LAMP and LAMP Pathways 2005-18: INR 8.8 cr
Total TCSRD budget from 2009-12: INR 2,640,560
CFT could develop a scalable and replicable model for working with migrant communities, involving Panchayats, Primary Education Department Govt of Gujarat, SSA, American India Foundation and Tata Chemicals Rural Development Society. This model developed in two blocks of Kutch district is being replicated in 6 districts.
