Mahindra and Mahindra's 'Prerna' initiative is launched in three states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka and aims to outreach over 6000 women farmers and empower Champion women farmers as Change Makers in Agriculture. The project focuses on to closely work with women farmers to develop their capacities on improved agriculture practices, introduce on farm mechanizations and facilitate peer learning with other farmers. The project is being implemented with BAIF Institute for Sustainable Livelihoods and Development (BISLD). The proposed project is demonstrating an empowering model with women farmers for major crop productivity enhancement and introduce farm mechanization at grassroots level. With these efforts, it is envisaged that the project will successfully demonstrate an innovative model to promote farm mechanization and empower women champion farmers to bridge knowledge gaps, build a strong women’s farmers network enabling adoption of improved agriculture practices and play an active role as influencers and change makers in every day agriculture.
