Project Description

 

To address the issue of child malnutrition by ensuring access and utilization of basic maternal, newborn, child, adolescent health and nutrition services for the 7000 days of a child’s life
1.1 Promoting home based health care and referrals for high risk cases
1.2 Advocate the CMAM programme with the MCGM and promote coordination between the MCGM and the ICDS department
1.3 Rent and maintenance of community health centers
1.4 Awareness generation in the community on mother and child care
2.1 Formation of mothers group including mothers of severely acute malnourished children who will act as a peer support group in the community
2.2 Linking of mother support groups with National Health Programme 
2.3 Capacity building of adolescent peer leaders on sexual and reproductive health
2.4 Capacity Building of Community Health Volunteers (CHVs)
2.5 Capacity building of government frontline health workers
2.6 Orientation sessions for women and adolescent girls on IYCF and MNCHN
2.7 Strengthen community mobilization through formation and sensitization of community groups on early identification and referral of sick and malnourished children 
2.8 Development of IEC material
2.9 Process documentation
3.1 Community groups are taken through sessions on citizenship access to health services
3.2 Partnerships are built with local community-based organisation and/or NGOs to strengthen access to services
4.1 Advocacy meetings with Solid Waste Management Department of MCGM to improve services in waste segregation and hygiene structures across the dumping ground and linking up with Swach Bharat Abhiyan
4.2 Convergence meeting with NGOs and government (ICDS and MCGM and National Health Mission) detailing linkages with community and government stakeholders for government dispensaries, health posts, maternity home and peripheral hospital
4.3 Consultation with ICDS, NUHM, MCGM Health Department, Partner NGO and SC to share and print media to local newspapers for continuous advocacy
