Greenply Foundation identifies healthcare as a segment that truly needs attention, given that the existing healthcare infrastructure is stretched to its capacity. Foundation feels that their efforts of providing requisite healthcare support can make a valuable difference in the lives of people living in rural India.
Greenply Foundation’s healthcare project aims at providing mobile health care in the mountainous region of Nagaland, where access to health services are currently limited. The Foundation’s Mobile Medical Van (MMV) initiative, in its 15-day pilot phase alone, has benefitted over 1000 people across 18 villages of Mon District, Nagaland. The MMV is currently catering to the basic healthcare needs of a population of over 25,000 across 29 villages. This initiative is being implemented with the technical knowledge and expertise of Rural Development Institute, Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust, Dehradun.
In the long run, foundation aims to create a behaviour change among rural communities towards a healthy and hygienic living.
