Project Description

Started in 2009, I-India (an NGO for Child Rights) together with its partners runs four RBSE affiliated schools and currently providing education to over 1800 children free of cost. The children are given free access to education, books, school supplies, uniforms, shoes, socks, transport facilities, health care and daily nutritious food. The focus area of our education project is as under:

  • Children of below poverty line families living in remotest villages of Jaipur district
  • Children of urban poor living in slums, street points and makeshift tents
  • ·Homeless/Orphan Children
Geographic Reach of Schools: 20 Villages & 20 urban slums

Profile of Students: Majority of students at our schools, coming from families with incomes less than INR 350 per day.

Special Features of Project

 
Formal Education.
 
   Students study an accredited curriculum program from primary level to grade 12. The Hindi medium school with special focus on English and other important life skills prepares them for college and beyond.
 
Expanded horizons.
 
     Our students participate in sports, music and art classes, and other extracurricular activities that bring pleasure as well as education.Younger students receive fun filled schooling that lets kids be kids.


Guaranteed day care and board.
 
    Our schools are linked with I-India run shelter homes and provides living facilities to homeless students with comfortable dorms, 24hours residential care, and a dining facility that serves nutritious meals. Further, students from poor families are also receiving mid day meals and periodical health check-up’s.


Unlimited potential.
 
    After leaving our high school, 90-95% of our students go on to graduate from college. 70% of these students also prepares to secure full-time jobs in government and private sector. They pursue careers and futures undreamed of by their parents.


Breaking the cycle.
 
     Our graduates return home with the education, skills, and opportunities to change the lives of    their families.

universities
 
- The multidisciplinary curriculum not only with core subjects but also Music, PE & Sports to even

- Regular health monitoring through I-India’s medical team and government medical agencies
 
- Career counselling for grade 9 onwards, support to prepare for competitive examinations
 
- Special focus: To improve English, communication skills & Computers
 
- Strong ties with students' families and the local community
 
- Extra Classes in terms of remedial and bridge courses
