This project aims at reducing avoidable blindness by delivering primary eye care services by setting up of 11 disability inclusive vision centers in 08 districts, 08 blocks in the state of Uttar Pradesh with following activities:
- Setting up of Vision Centre including the venue
- Procurement and installation of equipment
- Recruitment and training of staff
- Conducting baseline study
- Work with base hospital for surgical and other eye care specialties.
- Implement the activities such as awareness events, screening of patients in vision centres, their examination – refraction,
- prescription of glasses, to provide glasses on subsided rates and training of ASHAs for identification & referral of patients.
- Network and collaboration with other stakeholders like government, NGOs, Schools
- The Vision Centres established through this project will achieve/ensure sustainability by the end of project by generating revenue for their own running costs from spectacles, OPD, diagnostic services, paid services from those who can afford to pay for surgeries or other treatment.
