Strengthening computer skills of NGO staff

Computer Literacy For NGO Staff (Virtual Volunteering)

United Way Mumbai

Program Description

Need of the Project

Most NGO staff are adept in their respective fields. They, however, may not have advanced computer skills, presentation skills, knowledge of MS Excel, social media marketing and other useful software. Considering the current scenario, there is an urgent need for computer literacy for personnel across different functions at NGOs – teachers, outreach workers, fundraising staff, etc.

Volunteer's Role

Employee volunteers may conduct workshops on the following topics to enable NGO staff become proficient in their work. Over 4 days, the series on Computer Literacy will cover essential topics such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Introduction to Social Media Platforms. Depending on the nature and scope of the activity, a group of employees will be divided across activities to be conducted over 4 days. Each group of employees will be required to conduct the given activity digitally over platforms like Zoom or Google Meet.
