Villages in Cairn’s areas of operation lack optimum methods of transportation and mobility. Mobile Health Vans (MHVs) enable affordable medical services to far flung villages in Rajasthan and Gujarat. 10 MHVs take basic medical services to more than 300,000 people in Rajasthan and Gujarat, reaching ~244 villages every week.

Medical facilities in Barmer are supported via three significant interventions:

- Green Barmer, Clean Barmer campaign, focusing on health and hygiene through the support of 62 housekeeping and sanitation workers.

- Three specialist doctors in the Barmer Government District Hospital – a woman gynecologist, an ENT specialist, and a general surgeon – support more than 54,000 outpatient visits annually.

- Two dysfunctional First Referral Units in Barmer have been operationalized to attend to critical cases, in partnership with National Health Mission and the Department of Medical, Health & Family Welfare, Rajasthan.

The PAHONCH project in Gujarat has improved access to nutrition and health entitlements for ~7,100 pregnant women, nursing mothers, young children (0-6 years), and adolescent girls.

A collaboration with the Health Department in Andhra Pradesh has helped functionalize the Primary Health Centre in Surasaniyanam village, by supporting 11 medical staff who offer first aid, including for emergencies.
