Frostees India: Sector Skilling towards Prosperity amongst the Poorest

CSRBOX

A company that has been in automotive business for more than four decades would rightly have the correct know-how towards settling the youth with required skill sets. What more to ask for if this company is impacting the jobless youth who belong to households that are forced to fight poverty on a daily basis. Frostees India Pvt Ltd. has opened gateways to success by providing basic skills to the budding youths who belong to the low economic groups across various states. The immense impact that this endeavour has created pockets of prosperity, wherever Frostees India has set their education campuses that provide automotive skills.

Providing opportunities to a young individual to become industry ready comes from a concrete knowledge of being a part of automotive industry for more than 40 years. Frostees India not only is the sole provider of automobile spare parts to the entire North East Indian region but also owns string of restaurants, covering hospitality sector, where the industry readiness of the youth is also being promoted by the company. Industry readiness is the process that finally culminates into the candidates getting placed and absorbed in the industry itself. The placements can both be in the shape of a job or else, becoming sustained entrepreneurs. The trainees are free to choose a course for themselves after the completion of their courses.

Frostees India works with both private as well as the government agencies. The experience is unique in both the cases. The private partnerships are taking care of the placements of the candidates that are trained by Frostees. Government agencies on the other hand, promote the candidates who belong to the worst hit economic districts like Purulia, Jhargram and Midnapur. These districts are the considered to be the most backward districts of West Bengal in terms of BPL population, regions of Maoist disturbances that are tribal belts too. These districts are considered to be quite low on literacy and earning capacity. These tribal belt candidates are sponsored by the government. After training, students hailing from such regions are being absorbed by automotive sectors in Pune, Delhi, Mumbai and other big cities. This is indeed a matter of pride for the organization.

Women candidates are left out and are not far behind. When the mother of the family thinks of working with a well-off family as a cook, the young women who are trained by Frostees are learning how to sew skillfully, by Frostees India’s SMO courses to become Sewing Machine Operators. They can now easily work for themselves or work in mass production projects and easily earn far better than what their parents did for a living.

It does not come as a surprise when the decades’ old company decides to formulate its own institute called Mukesh Training Academy that even offers degree courses that spans over three years in the field of Automotive as well as Computer Applications. These degree courses are offered apart from the short-term courses on refrigeration and air-conditioner repairing. Since the courses are well-mapped with the industry requirements, the candidates have best chances of being absorbed by the industry.

Pandemic situation has changed the world gradually, where most of the industries such transportation, hospitality, amongst others are facing standstill situations. Entire school and college institutes are working from home due to social distancing. Considering this situation, the industrial focus is naturally on the higher productivity levels of their employees. Frostees has already set skilling standards high, based on their own industry practices along with research and development, so that the candidates are productive enough to be easily placed across industries. This is a big advantage for those trained under Frostees.

Currently, the central government has chalked out a roadmap for the entire skilling sector in order to strengthen and reshape the future of skilled man-force in the country. This is a big shift in the domain of skilling where the future is becoming more and more inclusive for students who are provided practical training. Frostees India is diligently creating such avenues for such students to be hire-ready. The automobile industry is typically based on abundant practice, where online training can just be a support.

Constant upgradation of the syllabus for the students along with a rigorous hands-on training is the winning aspect that Frostees India thrives upon. Vehicular trainings for of electrical vehicles that will be the future of automotive industry has already been incorporated in the new syllabus designed for studentswho are part and parcel of Frostees India’s training campuses. Since Indian work-force is much in demand on national and international soils, the upgradedtrainingsas well as hands on practicals, supported by online support during COVID times – all this ensures that the candidates are ardently on the way to the success across industries by all means.
